PayPal

The well-known online payment account many customers prefer to use, offered alongside card payments.
PayPal is an online payment service with a name most customers already know. Shoppers can pay from a PayPal account without typing in a card number, which many people prefer when buying from a business for the first time.
On a website, PayPal usually appears as an extra button at checkout, next to paying by card. WooCommerce, SureCart, FluentCart and ThriveCart all support it, usually alongside Stripe. Offering both lets customers choose the way they are most comfortable paying.
PayPal differs from Stripe in feel. Customers see PayPal’s own sign-in and pages, which builds trust but gives you less control over the look of checkout. Stripe is usually the stronger fit for a custom application, while PayPal is a useful second option on a shop. PayPal sets its own processing fees, so check them before you commit.
Why PayPal Is in Our Stack
In Practice
We add PayPal as a second payment option on online stores when customers expect to see it at checkout. In custom applications we leave it out unless the business really needs it, to keep payments simple.
A Trusted Name
Many shoppers feel safer paying with an account they already use.
Faster Checkout
Returning PayPal users skip typing card and address details.
