What is Cloudflare?
Cloudflare, in plain English.
Cloudflare is a network that sits between your website and the people visiting it. When someone types in your address, their request goes to Cloudflare first. It is best known as a CDN, a network of servers around the world that keeps copies of your pages close to visitors so they load faster.
The same position makes it a good guard. Cloudflare filters out bot traffic and attacks before they reach your server, handles the encryption behind the browser padlock, and manages your DNS, the address book that points your domain at your site. The company says it proxies about 20 percent of the web.
For a business owner, that means a quicker site, fewer outages and less risk, without running any of it yourself. Cloudflare has paid plans and free tiers for some services. It does not replace your hosting. It works in front of it.

Why we use Cloudflare.
Cloudflare sits in front of most of the sites we host. We use it for DNS, SSL, caching and security, so pages load quickly for visitors and junk traffic never reaches the server. It also gives us one place to adjust protection when a site needs it.
Faster Pages
Visitors get copies of your pages from a server near them, not one far away.
Attack Protection
Bots and floods of fake traffic are filtered out before they reach your site.
One Place for DNS
Your domain settings, SSL and security live together, easy to change safely.
