What is DigitalOcean?
DigitalOcean, in plain English.
DigitalOcean is a cloud hosting company. Instead of sharing a crowded server with hundreds of strangers, you rent a virtual private server, or VPS: your own slice of a powerful machine that other customers cannot use. DigitalOcean calls these Droplets, and they were its first product.
Beyond servers, it offers managed databases, file storage, load balancers and Kubernetes for larger applications. Founded in 2012, it aims at developers and small to mid-sized businesses, and its dashboard and documentation are known for being easy to follow.
A VPS gives you more speed and control than cheap shared hosting, but someone has to look after it. That is the trade. Many agencies, including us, pair a provider like DigitalOcean with a server management tool so the day-to-day upkeep stays simple.

Why we use DigitalOcean.
We have hosted client sites on DigitalOcean, usually as a managed VPS with Cloudflare in front. It is a dependable, well-documented choice when a project needs its own server. We pick the provider that fits the project, not the other way round.
Your Own Server
Your site runs on dedicated resources, so other customers cannot slow it down.
Clear Pricing
Plans are simple and billed by the month, so costs are easy to predict.
Room to Grow
Add power or services like databases later without moving to a new host.
