What is Defender Pro?
Defender Pro, in plain English.
Defender Pro is the paid version of Defender, a WordPress security plugin made by WPMU DEV. It does the everyday jobs of keeping a site safe: scanning files for malware, blocking bad visitors, and making sign-ins harder to break into.
That includes a firewall with IP and country blocking, limits on repeated login attempts, strong password rules, two-factor sign-in, and a set of recommended hardening settings you can apply in one click. Audit logs and email reports show what happened and when. The free version is on WordPress.org. Defender Pro adds a shared bad-visitor blocklist for connected sites, a central dashboard for managing many sites, and live support.
Defender works alongside your host's own protections rather than replacing them. It guards the WordPress layer: the logins, the files and the plugins where most attacks on small business sites land.

Defender Pro is the security plugin we install on many of our WordPress builds. It's friendly enough for a client to read its reports, and thorough enough to cover scanning, logins and hardening in one place instead of three separate plugins.
