What is Lucide?

Lucide, in plain English.

Lucide is a free, open-source icon library. Icons are the small pictures on a website: the arrow on a button, the phone beside your number, the check mark in a list. Lucide provides well over 1,600 of them, drawn in one consistent style.

That consistency is the point. A site that mixes icons from different sources looks slightly off, even if visitors can't say why. Using one set makes everything feel like it belongs together, and the icons stay sharp at any size because they're vector graphics (SVG), not images.

Lucide is released under the ISC License, so it's free to use on commercial projects. It's also lightweight: a site can load only the icons it uses rather than a whole library, which helps pages stay fast. For a business, it means polished details with no icon license to buy or track.
