What is UltraFTP?
UltraFTP, in plain English.
UltraFTP is a file transfer program for Windows. FTP is the long-standing way to copy files between your computer and a web server, a bit like dragging files into a shared folder on the internet. UltraFTP gives that a tidy screen for browsing and moving them.
It belongs to the same family as the UltraEdit text editor and UltraCompare. It is a commercial desktop application, a 64-bit Windows program, not something that runs on the web.
Most modern workflows lean on Git and automated deploys, so FTP is used less than it was. It still matters when you need to grab a file from a server, upload a backup or fix something fast. Clients rarely see it, but it helps us handle files safely.

Why we use UltraFTP.
UltraFTP is a handy tool for the odd moment a developer needs to move files by hand on Windows. Our usual deploys run through Git and server tools, so it plays a small, practical role.
Simple File Moves
Browse a server and copy files across with ordinary dragging.
Windows Desktop App
It runs on your own computer, not on the web.
Useful Fallback
A quick way to reach files when other tools are unavailable.
