What is X?
X, in plain English.
X is the social network that used to be called Twitter. People share short posts, photos and links in a public feed, and conversation moves quickly around news, events and whatever is being talked about today.
For a business, X is a place to be timely. It suits companies with news to share often, an audience that follows an industry closely, or a reason to answer questions in public. Local governments, media, sports, events and technology brands tend to get the most from it.
Because posts disappear down the feed fast, X is a poor home for anything you want people to find later. That belongs on your website, where it stays put and can show up in search results. So we treat X as a way to announce and respond, and the site as the place that holds the answers. Not every business needs an account.
