Branding
What is Brand Voice?
Also called: tone of voice
Brand voice is how your business sounds in writing and speech. A consistent voice makes your website, emails and ads feel like one company.
Brand voice is the personality in your words. It covers whether you sound formal or relaxed, direct or warm, technical or plain. Tone can shift by situation, such as a friendly welcome versus a firm payment reminder, but the voice underneath stays the same.
Customers notice voice even when they cannot name it. A website written in stiff corporate language feels cold, while one that sounds like the owner talking feels human. A consistent voice also builds trust, because people know what to expect from you.
Voice is easy to lose when several people write for a business. Writing it down helps: a few descriptive words, examples of what to say and what to avoid, and sample sentences. We define voice during branding and use it on every page we write for you.
Example
A dental office decides to sound calm, clear and friendly, and rewrites its appointment reminders to match.
