What is Call to Action?
Also called: CTA
A call to action is the button or link that tells a visitor what to do next, like Book a Call or Get a Quote. Clear ones turn visits into leads.
A call to action, or CTA, is any prompt that asks a visitor to take a specific step. Typical examples are Request a Quote, Call Now, Book a Discovery Call, Download the Guide and Buy Now. It is usually a button, but it can also be a link or a phone number.
Without a clear CTA, visitors have to guess what to do, and most will not bother. Every important page should have one main action that stands out, with a quieter secondary option if needed. Too many competing buttons dilute the choice and reduce the number of people who act.
Good CTAs use plain, specific words that describe what the visitor gets, and they appear where the visitor is ready to act, not just at the bottom. We plan CTAs around what you want most, such as calls, bookings or form fills, and test them to see what works.
Example
A service page ends with a single bold button that says Book a Free Site Visit, followed by your phone number.
