What is Favicon?
A favicon is the tiny icon that appears in a browser tab, bookmark or search result next to your site name. It helps people spot and trust your brand.
A favicon is the small image shown in browser tabs, bookmarks and the history list. It is usually a simplified version of your logo. Google can also show it next to your listing in mobile search results.
It looks minor, but it supports recognition. When someone has ten tabs open, a clear icon helps them find yours. A missing favicon shows a generic placeholder, which can make a site look unfinished or untrustworthy.
Because favicons are very small, a full logo rarely works. A simplified mark or a single letter in your brand color is usually clearer. Different devices want different sizes, so the icon has to be prepared in several formats. We create and install favicons as part of every site build.
Example
Your site shows a crisp blue square with your initial in the browser tab instead of a blank page icon.
