What is Drizzle ORM?
Drizzle ORM, in plain English.
Drizzle ORM is a library that lets a custom application read and write its database in a safe, organized way. The ORM part stands for object-relational mapper, a translator between the application's code and the tables in the database.
With it, the shape of your data is written down once: a restaurant has a name, an address and a list of reviews. From then on, the code is checked against that description. If someone tries to save a review without a rating, or asks for a field that does not exist, the mistake is flagged while we build, not after launch.
Drizzle works with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL and SQLite, and it is free and open source. It also helps track changes to your data structure, so the database can be updated carefully as your application grows.
In our stack
Why we use Drizzle ORM.
We use Drizzle in our TypeScript applications, including the Reno restaurant directory platform. It keeps database changes tracked and repeatable, and it catches data mistakes early. That means safer launches and fewer late surprises with your information.
Safer Data Handling
Mistakes in how data is saved are flagged while we build.
Tracked Changes
Every database change is recorded, so updates happen in a careful, repeatable way.
Room to Grow
A clear data structure makes adding new features straightforward.
