What is Plesk?
Plesk, in plain English.
Plesk is a hosting control panel, a screen where you manage websites, databases, email and security on a server without typing commands. Hosting companies install it, and agencies and IT teams use it to look after many sites at once.
It is a direct alternative to cPanel and is made by the same company, WebPros. Plesk presents itself as more than a panel, with a catalog of extensions you can add, and it includes tools for managing WordPress sites.
For a business owner, the difference between Plesk and cPanel rarely matters: both give you a point-and-click way to run a server. What counts is that your host or developer knows the one in use. Either way, someone still has to keep the server updated and secure.

Why we use Plesk.
We do not use Plesk on our own builds, since ServerAvatar covers our needs. We have no reason to avoid it, though. If a client's host already runs Plesk, we work inside it without fuss.
Point-and-Click Control
Manage sites, email and databases without technical commands.
Many Sites, One View
Handy for agencies or teams running several websites.
Add-On Extensions
A catalog of extra tools can be added as needs change.
