What is Webstudio?
Webstudio, in plain English.
Webstudio is a visual website builder, positioned as an open source alternative to Webflow. You design pages on screen, and it produces a modern website built on React, a popular framework for building web interfaces.
You can use its hosted version, or deploy your own copy and keep your data, components and infrastructure under your control. The core code is open source under the AGPL license, which means there is no vendor holding your site hostage. It can also connect to separate content management tools, called headless CMSs, when you need structured content.
That makes Webstudio interesting for teams that like Webflow's visual approach but want ownership and flexibility. It is a younger project, with a smaller community and fewer ready-made add-ons than WordPress, so it suits front-end focused sites rather than complex business systems.
