What is Yoast?
Yoast, in plain English.
Yoast SEO is a WordPress SEO plugin, one of the first and most widely installed. It helps your pages show up well on Google by managing each page's search title, description and sitemap, and by adding a checklist in the editor that scores your writing as you go.
That checklist is the reason many owners know the name. If you write your own pages and want a gentle nudge on readability and keywords, it works like a spell checker for search. The free plugin covers the essentials. Paid Premium adds AI helpers, a redirect manager and extra schema types.
It does a lot, which suits some teams and overwhelms others. It connects with Semrush, WooCommerce and common page builders.

We know Yoast well because clients often arrive with it already installed. We can keep it, or move you to something leaner without losing your titles and descriptions. Our own default is SEOPress, but Yoast is a fair choice for teams who like its writing guidance.
