What is KPI?

Also called: Key Performance Indicator

A KPI is a number you track to know whether your business or marketing is on target, like leads per month, booked jobs or cost per lead.

A key performance indicator, or KPI, is a measurable value tied to a goal. If your goal is more customers, relevant KPIs might be leads per month, the share of leads that book, and what each customer costs to win.

The point is focus. Modern tools can report hundreds of numbers, and most do not matter. A short list of KPIs tells you quickly whether things are improving, where to look when they are not, and when to celebrate.

Choose a few that connect to revenue, and avoid vanity numbers like raw page views or likes unless they link to results. Review them on a regular schedule. We build simple dashboards around your KPIs so you see what matters without wading through reports.

Example
A service business tracks three KPIs each month: new inquiries, booked jobs and average cost per lead.
