What is Affinity?
Affinity, in plain English.
Affinity is a creative app for working with photos, vector artwork and page layouts. Vector artwork is made from lines and shapes rather than pixels, so logos and icons stay sharp at any size, from a favicon to a billboard.
The Affinity apps were made by Serif, which was later acquired by Canva. They were designed as alternatives to Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, and have been popular with designers who dislike monthly subscriptions. Affinity is now one combined app rather than three separate ones.
For a website project, this is where graphics get prepared: cleaning up a photo, redrawing a logo, building icons and graphics, and exporting them in the right sizes. Good files here mean a site that loads quickly and looks sharp on any screen.

Why we use Affinity.
We use Affinity for the everyday graphics work on client sites: touching up photos, redrawing logos and exporting images. It handles photo and vector work in one app, so we can get those assets ready without waiting on a bigger toolset.
