What is SolidWP?
SolidWP, in plain English.
SolidWP is the name iThemes took in April 2023 for its WordPress security, backup and site management products. Its main plugin was first published on WordPress.org in 2010. It has since gone from iThemes Security to Solid Security, and the WordPress.org listing now reads Kadence Security.
The plugin protects a site with two-factor sign-in, limits on repeated password guesses, strong password rules, and file change detection that flags anything unexpected. A free version is on WordPress.org. The paid Pro version adds extras such as passwordless logins and more frequent site scans.
Because the name has changed more than once, check which one is on a quote. SolidWP, iThemes Security and Kadence Security all point to the same line of plugin, so ask exactly what is included before you compare it with others.

Why we use SolidWP.
It's a long-established choice when a business already knows it or wants a paid security plugin from an established vendor. We keep it in our toolbox for those cases and install it only when it's the right fit.
Safer Sign-Ins
Two-factor sign-in and password rules protect the most common way sites get broken into.
Change Detection
Unexpected file changes get flagged, so problems are spotted early.
Long Track Record
The plugin has been published on WordPress.org since 2010.
