SEO
What is Meta Description?
A meta description is the short summary under your page title in search results. It does not rank you directly, but it influences whether people click.
A meta description is a short piece of text in a page's code that summarizes what the page is about. Search engines often show it as the snippet under your link in results. Google may rewrite it if it thinks another passage better matches the search.
It is not a direct ranking factor, but it works like an ad for your page. A clear, specific description that includes the benefit and matches what the searcher wants can earn more clicks than a vague one. More clicks from the same ranking means more visitors.
Write a unique description for each important page, in plain language, and keep it short enough to avoid being cut off. Avoid repeating the same text everywhere. We write descriptions for every page we build and audit existing ones as part of SEO work.
Example
Two businesses rank side by side, and the one whose description names the service, the city and a clear next step gets the click.
