What is Next.js?
Also called: NextJS
Next.js is a popular framework for building fast, modern websites and web apps. It is built on React and maintained by Vercel.
Next.js is an open source framework for building websites and web applications. It extends React, a widely used JavaScript library, with features for speed, search visibility and structure, such as server rendering and routing between pages.
Its appeal for business owners is performance and flexibility. Pages can be prepared ahead of time or generated as needed, so they load quickly and are easy for search engines to read. The same project can power a marketing site, a customer portal and an app.
Because it is widely used and well supported, you are not tied to a single developer. It does require skilled developers, and it is not the simplest choice for a small site that only needs easy editing. We use Next.js for projects that need speed, custom features or both.
Example
A company runs its marketing pages and a customer login area from one Next.js project, so both feel fast and look consistent.
