Web Development

What is Headless CMS?

A headless CMS stores and manages your content separately from the website that displays it, giving you flexibility and speed in how the site is built.

A traditional CMS like WordPress combines two jobs: managing content and displaying it as web pages. A headless CMS does only the first. It holds your content and offers it through an API, and a separate front end, built with something like Next.js, shows it to visitors.

That separation brings benefits. The front end can be very fast and fully custom. The same content can feed a website, a mobile app and other channels. Security can also improve, since the editing system is not directly exposed to visitors.

The tradeoff is more complexity. A headless setup needs developers to build and maintain the front end, so it is not the best fit for every business. It shines when performance, custom design or multi-channel content matter. We recommend it only when the benefits justify it.

Example
A business edits its pricing page in a simple editing tool, and the change appears on its fast custom website and in its app.
