What is API?

Also called: Application Programming Interface

An API is a set of rules that lets two pieces of software share information, like your website sending a new lead straight into your CRM.

API stands for Application Programming Interface. Think of it as a waiter between two businesses. Your website places an order, the API carries it to the other system, and the answer comes back. Neither side needs to know how the other works inside.

APIs are how most modern tools talk to each other. Your payment processor, your email platform, your scheduling tool and your accounting software all offer APIs. When your website sends a form submission into your CRM, or your software pulls in a shipping rate, an API is doing the work.

For an owner, APIs mean less double entry and fewer mistakes. Instead of copying information between systems by hand, the systems update each other. Not every tool has a good API, so it is worth checking before you commit to one. We build and connect APIs so your systems share data reliably.

Example
When a customer books online, an API sends their details to your calendar and your CRM at the same moment.
