What is Heatmap?
A heatmap is a visual map of where visitors click, tap and scroll on a page, showing what gets attention and what gets ignored.
A heatmap overlays color on a page to show where visitors interact. Warm areas show where many people click or tap. Scroll maps show how far down the page people get. Some tools also record anonymous session replays so you can watch how people move.
Heatmaps reveal things that numbers hide. You may find that visitors keep clicking something that is not a link, miss your main button, or leave before they reach the section you consider most important. These are clues for what to fix.
They work best alongside other data and with enough visitors to show a pattern. They should also respect privacy: tools should hide sensitive fields and follow consent rules. We use heatmaps to guide improvements on key pages, then check whether the changes help.
Example
A heatmap shows that visitors keep tapping your phone number text, which is not a link, so you make it tap-to-call.
