What is Uptime?
Uptime is the share of time your website is up and working. Every minute of downtime is a minute customers cannot find, call or buy from you.
Uptime measures how much of the time your site is available and working. It is usually shown as a percentage over a month or a year. The opposite, downtime, is when visitors see an error or nothing loads.
Downtime costs money and trust. Customers who cannot reach you go elsewhere, ads send paid clicks to a broken page, and repeated outages can hurt search visibility. Because outages can happen at night or on weekends, you need something watching.
Hosts often advertise high uptime percentages, but read the fine print on what is guaranteed and what you get if they miss it. Independent monitoring alerts you the moment something fails. Our hosting includes monitoring so problems are caught and fixed fast.
Example
A monitoring service pings your site every minute and texts your developer when it stops responding.
